Among the featured talent was former AEW World Champion Darby Allin, who stopped by Las Vegas Now to discuss his career, his approach to wrestling, and his recent climb of Mount Everest.
Allin, who captured the AEW World Championship earlier this year by defeating MJF, reflected on his journey from living out of his car to reaching the top of the wrestling world. He emphasized that his success came without compromising his identity, noting that AEW allowed him to remain authentic throughout his rise.
Climbing Mount Everest and AEW’s Support
In addition to his wrestling achievements, Allin completed a climb of Mount Everest this year. He highlighted that AEW was unique among wrestling organizations in supporting such a risky personal goal, stating that few companies would allow a top star to attempt the world’s highest peak. Allin described the emotional moment of reaching the summit, where he planted an AEW flag and was overcome with tears.
When asked about the most challenging part of the climb, Allin said the ascent was more difficult than the descent, but the adrenaline and emotion of reaching the top helped carry him back down safely.

Known for his fearless in-ring style, Allin has built a reputation for taking extreme risks, including crashing through glass, being thrown down stairs, and performing underwater stunts. AEW’s Las Vegas shows at the Palms are part of a busy summer for the promotion, with AEW All In: London scheduled for Sunday, August 30 at Wembley Stadium. The event is expected to be one of the company’s largest international shows, drawing attention from wrestling fans in Las Vegas and beyond.
