Sponsored Content Policy
Sponsored Content
The standards that would apply to sponsored or partner content if Vegas Report introduces those formats in the future.
Last updated
Vegas Report does not currently publish sponsored articles, branded content, native advertising, paid advertorials or affiliate content.
If sponsored or partner content is introduced in the future, it will be clearly labeled and kept separate from independent Vegas Report editorial work.
Clear Labeling
Any paid editorial-adjacent content introduced by Vegas Report must be clearly distinguished from independent editorial work. Readers must be able to understand when a commercial relationship exists without having to infer it from the surrounding context.
Appropriate labels may include:
- Sponsored
- Partner Content
- Advertisement
- Paid Promotion
- Press Release
The appropriate label depends on the nature of the material. The label must describe the commercial relationship accurately and must not make paid material appear to be independent Vegas Report reporting.
No Purchased Editorial Conclusions
A sponsor may not purchase favorable independent reporting, an editorial recommendation, a review score or ranking position.
A commercial arrangement concerning one piece of material does not give the sponsor authority over unrelated independent Vegas Report coverage.
Paid visibility does not determine editorial ranking position.
Editorial Separation
Sponsored material, if introduced, must remain distinguishable from independent Vegas Report reporting and must clearly identify when material has been paid for, commissioned or produced through a commercial relationship.
This separation allows readers to evaluate commercial material with a clear understanding of its origin while preserving the independence of Vegas Report's ordinary editorial coverage.
Potential Subject Areas
If Vegas Report later accepts sponsored material, subjects may be limited to areas relevant to its audience, such as Las Vegas travel, hospitality, hotels, restaurants, entertainment, events, transportation, local business, technology, professional services or tourism research.
Any sponsored subject would still need to fit Vegas Report's Las Vegas and Southern Nevada coverage.
Topics We Would Reject
- Fraudulent or materially deceptive claims
- Fabricated reviews or testimonials
- Unsupported medical, legal or financial claims
- Guaranteed gambling, investment or financial outcomes
- Illegal or harmful activity
- Content designed to impersonate independent reporting
- Paid ranking manipulation
Commercial material must not undermine readers' ability to distinguish independent editorial content from paid visibility.
Current Status
Vegas Report's current commercial model is display and programmatic advertising, including Google AdSense. Sponsored editorial content is not currently offered.
