Metallica teams up with the American Red Cross for a special blood drive at Fashion Show Las Vegas during their Sphere residency, offering fans exclusive rewards and a chance to win a replica of Lars Ulrich’s drum kit.

Metallica is adding a new twist to their Las Vegas Sphere residency by partnering with the American Red Cross for a blood drive at Fashion Show Las Vegas. The Metallica X Red Cross #BleedingMe campaign will run from September 28, 2026, through March 19, 2027, matching the band's Sphere residency dates. The donation center is set up as a Metallica-themed pop-up inside Fashion Show Las Vegas on the Strip.

Anyone who donates blood at the pop-up will get a limited-edition T-shirt designed by Squindo. Donors are also entered into a drawing for a replica of Lars Ulrich’s Tama drum kit, modeled after the setup from the WorldWired Tour. The center, located at 3200 Las Vegas Blvd. S, is open Monday through Friday from noon to 6PM through mid-November, with updated hours to be announced later.

Immersive experience for fans

The blood drive is designed to feel like more than a typical donation event. Inside the Fashion Show Las Vegas center, fans can relax at the Delta Backstage Lounge and try out a replica of Lars Ulrich’s drum kit. The idea is to bring some of the energy of a Metallica show into the donation process. The American Red Cross pointed to the success of last year’s Metallica x Red Cross campaign as proof that fans are willing to get involved.

Blood donations will be accepted from September 28 through March 19, in step with Metallica’s Sphere residency. The campaign keeps fans engaged with the T-shirt giveaway and drum kit drawing. Independent music outlets confirm that Metallica's Sphere residency, called Life Burns Faster, runs from October 1, 2026, to March 13, 2027, with all 24 shows sold out.

How to donate and enter

Appointments can be made at RedCrossBlood.org/Metallica, by calling 1-800-RED CROSS, or through the Blood Donor App. Contest rules for the drum kit giveaway are posted on the campaign’s official page. The pop-up’s location on the Strip makes it easy for both locals and visitors to take part, and the Red Cross has set up several ways to book a spot.

Las Vegas has seen more music-driven community events lately, including the return of the Extreme Thing Festival, which has brought new attention to fan involvement and local causes.

What this means for Las Vegas entertainment

Metallica’s partnership with the American Red Cross uses the city’s entertainment scene to support a public cause. By hosting a blood drive during a major residency, the band and its partners are finding new ways to connect with fans and give back. The campaign offers exclusive memorabilia and makes community action part of the Las Vegas concert experience. This approach reflects a shift in how residencies and big events are run in the city, with more focus on local impact. After the Sphere residency, Metallica will continue their M72 World Tour across North America in 2027, as reported by Variety, showing their ongoing interest in fan engagement and community projects.
