The English singer-songwriter and former frontman of The Smiths was set to appear on August 14, 15, 18, and 19, according to his official website.
The abrupt cancellation was first reported on August 7 by entertainment outlet Consequence, which noted that all four Las Vegas dates had been removed from the schedule. As of August 8, neither Morrissey nor Wynn Las Vegas had issued a public statement explaining the decision, and the reason for the cancellation remains unclear. A notice on Ticketmaster for the affected shows simply states, “Unfortunately, the Event Organizer has had to cancel your event.”
Refunds for Ticket Holders
Ticketmaster has confirmed that customers who purchased tickets for the canceled performances will automatically receive refunds to their original method of payment within two to three weeks. No information has been provided about potential rescheduling or future Las Vegas dates for Morrissey.
Other Tour Dates Remain Scheduled
While the Las Vegas residency has been canceled, Morrissey’s remaining tour dates from September through December—including stops across the United States and Europe—are still listed as scheduled. The canceled Encore Theater run is the latest in a series of show cancellations for Morrissey in recent years, but no additional Las Vegas performances have been announced at this time.
