Palms Casino Resort will open a new 7,300-square-foot enclosed nonsmoking gaming area with 224 slot machines near the William Hill Sportsbook on August 24, followed by a charity event and grand opening on September 1.
Palms Casino Resort is expanding its gaming options with the introduction of a fully enclosed nonsmoking gaming area, set to open to the public on Monday, August 24. The new space, located near the William Hill Sportsbook, adds 7,300 square feet of dedicated casino floor and features 224 of the latest slot machines from nearly a dozen leading manufacturers.
According to Palms General Manager Kevin Glass, the decision to create a separate nonsmoking gaming environment was driven by consistent guest feedback requesting more smoke-free options. The new area is designed as a distinct space, separate from the main casino floor, and includes its own full-service bar with a unique beverage program.
Grand Opening and Charity Slot Challenge
The official grand opening celebration is scheduled for Tuesday, September 1, at 4 p.m. The event will feature the inaugural Spin It Forward IGT Celebrity Charity Slot Challenge, bringing together local personalities to play on behalf of ten Southern Nevada nonprofit organizations. Each participating charity will receive a $2,500 donation from the San Manuel Gaming and Hospitality Authority, as well as $1,000 in slot play provided by IGT. Charities can either accept the guaranteed $1,000 or partner with a celebrity participant to potentially increase their contribution through slot play.
Organizations benefiting from the event include Heaven Can Wait Animal Society, UNLV Chapter of Advancing Indigenous Science & Engineering Society, Proud to Rescue Benevolent Fund, Southern Nevada Joint Management Culinary & Training Fund, SAFE House, PBS Southern Nevada, The Ability Center, Make-A-Wish Southern Nevada, Springs Preserve Foundation, and Teach For America Nevada.
Expanded Gaming and Bar Experience
The new nonsmoking area offers a lineup of 224 slot games, representing a broad mix of the latest titles and gaming experiences. The dedicated bar will serve a rotating selection of draft beers from local breweries, including styles not available elsewhere at Palms, and specialty cocktails crafted specifically for the space. Highlights include a nitro tequila-forward take on the classic Carajillo and a rotating Bartender’s Choice selection of three premium bourbon and scotch flights for $10.
