Circa Resort & Casino in downtown Las Vegas will debut 49 new hotel rooms on its 49th and 50th floors starting September 1, expanding its inventory to meet ongoing high demand for rooms during busy weekends and major events.

Circa Resort & Casino is expanding its hotel offerings in downtown Las Vegas, with 49 new rooms set to open on the 49th and 50th floors of its hotel tower on September 1. The additions mark the latest phase in Circa’s multiphase buildout, nearly six years after the property first opened with several upper floors reserved for future development.

According to Circa co-owner and CEO Derek Stevens, the new rooms are being introduced to address consistently strong demand, especially during weekends and major sports events. “We just don’t have enough keys down here,” Stevens said ahead of the debut, noting that Circa has been sold out every weekend for the past three years.

Phased Expansion Strategy

When Circa opened in 2020, the resort intentionally left seven floors of its hotel tower unfinished, allowing the company to assess guest preferences and operational needs before completing the upper levels. Four additional floors of standard rooms were added in a previous phase. The current expansion fulfills part of Circa’s original plan to gradually introduce new room types based on observed demand.

“This was always part of the plan,” Stevens explained, emphasizing that the company wanted to determine which room types would be most popular before finalizing the upper floors. The two new levels, now branded as “platinum floors,” will feature upgraded finishes, higher-end lighting, and a mix of room types designed to offer a more premium experience than Circa’s standard accommodations.

Inside the New Rooms and Suites

The 49 new rooms include upgraded standard king rooms (both single and double), a studio suite, and a one-bedroom suite with an option for a connecting second room. The highlight of the expansion is the introduction of the Founders Entourage Suite, a new suite type designed for groups such as bachelor and bachelorette parties, large families, and reunion celebrations. Each Founders Entourage Suite features two bedrooms, two full bathrooms, a half-bath, a spacious living room, a wet bar, multiple televisions, and Murphy beds, accommodating up to 10 guests.

Hallways on the new floors will showcase higher-end lighting fixtures and wall paneling, while the rooms themselves are outfitted with new furnishings and upgraded amenities. Stevens described the new product as a response to the evolving expectations of Las Vegas visitors, who increasingly seek premium experiences and group accommodations.

Meeting Demand During Major Events

The timing of the expansion is intended to coincide with the start of football season, a period that typically brings record demand to Circa, which has built much of its identity around sports viewing and events. Stevens expects the new rooms to be fully booked as the property prepares for what he anticipates will be a record-setting football season.

Circa’s limited room supply has led to competition among casino hosts for available inventory, and the new rooms are expected to help alleviate some of that pressure. The property’s hotel tower now has only one unfinished floor remaining—the 15th floor—which is currently used for overflow during large events or as an indoor event space. There are no immediate plans for that floor, according to the company.

Reflecting Changes in Las Vegas Hospitality

Stevens noted that Las Vegas has shifted away from its reputation for inexpensive hotel rooms and buffets, with visitors now spending more on experiences, sports, concerts, and conventions. The new rooms at Circa are designed to align with these changing consumer preferences, offering upgraded amenities and flexible accommodations for groups.

“The days of a cheap buffet in a cheap hotel… unfortunately, those are just memories,” Stevens said, adding that the new rooms are intended to meet the needs of today’s Las Vegas guests.
