The Atlanta rapper, known for his influence on Southern hip-hop, first launched the residency in May with a 10-show run. Strong demand quickly led to an additional 11 performances through August, and the latest extension adds nine more dates, culminating in a grand finale on New Year’s Eve.
The residency’s growing popularity was highlighted on August 22, when Clark County Commissioner William McCurdy II and NBA star LeBron James presented Jeezy with the key to the Las Vegas Strip during a live show. The recognition underscores the residency’s impact on the city’s entertainment landscape and its significance for hip-hop in Las Vegas.
How the Residency Sets Itself Apart
Legend of the Snowman is not a typical hip-hop show. While the black-tie dress code is optional, most attendees embrace the theme, blending formal wear with street fashion staples like Air Jordans and designer accessories. This mix reflects the evolution of Jeezy’s audience, many of whom have followed his career since the release of Let’s Get It: Thug Motivation 101 in 2005. The residency’s atmosphere is designed to elevate the genre, combining orchestral arrangements with classic hip-hop energy.
Jeezy collaborates with LA’s Color of Noize orchestra, which features around 50 musicians each night. The partnership began in November 2023, when a 101-member version of the orchestra joined Jeezy at PH Live to break the Guinness World Record for the largest orchestra at a hip-hop concert. After the first act, he steps aside for a memoriam video dedicated to late friends and collaborators, including Pimp C, Shakir Stewart, Nipsey Hussle, and Rich Homie Quan. The show has also featured guest appearances from artists such as Usher, 2 Chainz, Master P, Cam’ron, YG, Bun B, Yung Miami, and Fabolous, with more guests expected in upcoming performances.
