Las Vegas AC Rentals offers portable air conditioners to residents facing central AC breakdowns, with daily rentals starting at $25 per unit and flexible terms during peak summer heat in the valley.

As late-summer temperatures soared in the Las Vegas Valley, some residents found themselves struggling to keep their homes livable when central air conditioning systems failed. For one east Las Vegas family, the solution arrived in the form of portable air conditioners delivered and installed by Las Vegas AC Rentals, a local business that has seen demand surge during the region’s hottest months.

Founded in 2020 by Frankie Valenzuela and his brother, Las Vegas AC Rentals has grown from a small operation in an east Las Vegas garage to a business with more than 140 portable AC units and a team of six. The company has completed over 800 jobs across the valley, providing temporary cooling to households facing potentially dangerous indoor heat while waiting for permanent repairs.

How the Service Works

Las Vegas AC Rentals offers daily rentals of portable air conditioners, typically at $25 per unit, with discounts for longer rental periods or multiple units. Most customers keep the units for seven to ten days, but the company allows flexible terms until central AC repairs are complete. According to Valenzuela, renting is often significantly less expensive than purchasing portable units outright, which can cost around $1,300 for two units—enough to cool most homes.

The business operates primarily from Valenzuela’s home garage, but equipment is also stationed at locations around the valley to speed up delivery times. Family members, including Valenzuela’s brother, sister, and father, help manage deliveries and installations, ensuring residents receive relief quickly during extreme heat events.

Origins and Expansion

The idea for Las Vegas AC Rentals was sparked in June 2020, when Valenzuela’s grandparents’ air conditioner failed during a heat wave. After spending over $2,000 on three portable units to keep their home safe, Valenzuela realized there were few rental options available in the area. He began advertising on online marketplaces and quickly received dozens of inquiries, confirming the need for such a service.

Valenzuela’s initial investment in a pallet of 11 portable units from a wholesaler allowed the business to launch during the pandemic. In its first summer, the company handled about 25 jobs. By 2023, demand had grown rapidly, especially as property management companies began requesting temporary cooling for tenants awaiting repairs. Today, Las Vegas AC Rentals works with more than 50 property management firms and 14 HVAC companies, sometimes delivering as many as 28 units in a single day during peak heat.

Plans for Growth and New Services

Looking ahead, Valenzuela aims to expand the company’s inventory to 250 units and increase the number of drivers within five years. He also plans to hire service technicians and begin offering permanent AC repairs within the next four months, responding to frequent customer requests for full-service solutions.

Las Vegas AC Rentals’ growth reflects the ongoing challenges of extreme heat in Southern Nevada, where reliable cooling is essential for both residents and visitors. The company’s rapid expansion and focus on customer needs highlight the evolving landscape of local businesses adapting to the region’s climate.
