Sphere Las Vegas will introduce expanded 4D effects to The Wizard of Oz at Sphere starting September 25, 2026, with tickets now available for performances through early 2027
Sphere Las Vegas is set to enhance its production of The Wizard of Oz at Sphere with a new lineup of 4D effects, beginning September 25, 2026. The venue, which opened in August 2025, has already established itself as a destination for immersive entertainment on the Las Vegas Strip. Tickets for the updated experience are now on sale for show dates through early 2027 at thesphere.com.
Since its debut, The Wizard of Oz at Sphere has used Sphere’s proprietary technology to bring the classic film to life, featuring large-scale visuals and interactive moments. Audiences have been transported through the tornado that sweeps Dorothy and her friends to Oz, with effects such as falling apples and flying Winged Monkeys already part of the show’s signature scenes.
Expanded 4D Effects Coming This Fall
The upcoming enhancements will introduce animatronic Winged Monkeys, themed scents, “Glinda Glitter,” pyrotechnic fireworks, and scented apples to the production. According to Sphere Entertainment Co., these additions are designed to deepen the sense of immersion and make some of the show’s most memorable moments even more vivid for guests.
Jennifer Koester, Sphere President and Chief Operating Officer, said the new effects are part of the venue’s ongoing effort to push the boundaries of immersive storytelling in Las Vegas entertainment. The expanded features aim to transport audiences further into the world of Oz, building on the venue’s reputation for technical innovation.
Show Schedule and Ticket Information
The Wizard of Oz at Sphere is presented by Sphere Studios in collaboration with Warner Bros. Discovery, Google, and Magnopus. The production offers multiple showtimes daily, providing flexibility for both locals and visitors planning their Las Vegas experience. Sphere’s ongoing investment in new effects and technology reflects the competitive landscape of Las Vegas entertainment, where venues continually seek to offer unique experiences. The addition of expanded 4D elements to The Wizard of Oz at Sphere is expected to draw both returning fans and new audiences as the show enters its second year on the Strip.
