ASYLUM and HOTEL FEAR opened at Meadows Mall on October 2. Their 28th season includes breast cancer fundraisers and a 2026 sock drive for Las Vegas Rescue Mission.

Guests entered two redesigned haunted houses at Meadows Mall when ASYLUM and HOTEL FEAR opened October 2 for their 28th season. The October events support breast cancer efforts and people experiencing homelessness in Southern Nevada. KLAS 8 News Now describes the attractions as among the oldest operating haunted houses in the United States.

Visitors can walk through the scares, then take part in donation drives for local causes.

The 2026 sock drive supports Las Vegas Rescue Mission, which provides meals and shelter to people experiencing homelessness, along with addiction recovery programs and support for families.

Two Haunts Share a Story

ASYLUM and HOTEL FEAR are separate experiences linked by a fictional story about two families brought together by tragedy and horror. The new season picks up 20 years after the original events. Each house has its own setting, with distinct characters and encounters.

Organizers redesigned rooms and added props. They also rebuilt sets and upgraded the special effects. The elaborate environments have hosted film productions, along with music-video and television shoots. Photographers have used the locations, too. Feature films including the RUST trilogy and Immortal Wars have filmed at the Las Vegas locations.

The haunts take a different approach from the concert visuals at Metallica's Sphere residency, though both make the surrounding experience central to the attraction.

For the 2026 Halloween season, the Las Vegas Review-Journal listed the Meadows Mall site at 4300 Meadows Lane as open Thursday through Sunday and October 28–31, with doors at 6:30 p.m. Ticket prices varied by date.

October Fundraisers

On Thursday, October 15, guests wearing pink can attend Scared Pink, an event for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Organizers say $2 from each qualifying ticket will go to breast cancer efforts. One of the owners is a two-time breast cancer survivor.

In October 2026, the sock drive was promoted as “Kill the Chill.” Visitors were asked to donate new, unused socks for Las Vegas Rescue Mission. KLAS 8 News Now reported that each pair earned one entry in a drawing for four VIP tickets. A $5 donation also earned one entry. Visitors could drop off socks at the haunted houses’ ticket booth or Massage Envy. Chino’s Mexican Kitchen and Galaxy Theatres at the Cannery also accepted donations. The VIP tickets included fast-pass entry to both haunted houses.

Socks are among the items homeless shelters often need. For sanitary reasons, shelters generally cannot accept used pairs. The campaign sends a practical donation to local recipients rather than asking visitors for cash.

Location and Local Partnership

The attractions are in the northwest parking lot of Meadows Mall near JCPenney, at 4300 Meadows Lane. Ticket details, including VIP admission, and event information are available at LVHaunts.com.

Organizers say Parade named the haunts Nevada’s Top Haunt and Forbes named them a Top West Coast Haunt. USA Today and BuzzFeed have covered the attractions. ScareFactor and HauntWorld Magazine have also featured them, as has Best10.com.

ASYLUM and HOTEL FEAR have supported Paradise Ranch Foundation for 13 years. The locally operated nonprofit provides community mental health programs through horse-assisted therapy. More information is available at ParadiseRanchLV.com.
