Activate Games is bringing its interactive, tech-driven gaming experience to Town Square Las Vegas this fall, offering high-tech game rooms and physical challenges for groups and visitors.
Activate Games is preparing to open its first Nevada location at Town Square Las Vegas, introducing a new kind of entertainment to the city. According to a Las Vegas Sun report, the live-action gaming center is expected to open in October 2026. This will be the brand’s first site in the Las Vegas area, joining the lineup of attractions at the outdoor mall on South Las Vegas Boulevard.
Activate Games is different from traditional arcades or escape rooms. Visitors move through a series of high-tech game rooms, taking on physical and mental challenges that last from 90 seconds to three minutes. Each player wears an RFID wristband that tracks scores, levels, and rewards, so every visit can be different. Rachel Smith, vice president of marketing for Activate America, described the experience as one where guests are "player one," combining physical activity with technology in a way that sets Activate apart from other entertainment options.
What to expect at Activate Games
The new venue will be located at 6611 S Las Vegas Blvd, A143, inside Town Square Las Vegas. The Las Vegas site will include 15 game rooms, each with up to 10 levels of gameplay, and rooms that can hold two to five players. Sessions are expected to last about 60 to 75 minutes, with pricing around $25 to $30 per person, according to recent VegasInc coverage. The center will operate alongside other entertainment concepts like Game Show Battle Rooms, adding more options for group outings and family activities at the mall.
During a session, visitors rotate through different interactive rooms. Each room uses technology that responds in real time, so players might jump, climb, solve puzzles, or compete for high scores. The games are designed for all skill levels, making them accessible for friends, families, and co-workers looking for a team-building activity or a new way to spend an evening. Clay Haton, general manager for Activate Las Vegas, said the number of rooms and levels is part of the site’s design, and the experience is meant for repeat visits, not just a one-time outing.
How Activate Games started
Activate Games was founded in Winnipeg, Canada, in 2019 by Adam and Megan Schmidt. The couple had previously run The Real Escape in Winnipeg and wanted to create a gaming concept that could be replayed and updated regularly. After two years of development in their backyard workshop, they opened the first Activate Games location in January 2019. The company’s technology allows for instant updates and new games to be added at all locations.
Since then, Activate Games has grown quickly, now operating more than 75 locations across Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, Europe, Mexico, and the United Arab Emirates. The brand has had over 10 million total visits and continues to expand internationally.
Las Vegas joins the global network
The Las Vegas opening is part of Activate Games’ expansion into major entertainment markets. The Town Square location will offer the same core experience as other Activate venues, focusing on replayable challenges and group participation.
