Golden Nugget Las Vegas is now the first casino in the city to offer 3-Dice Yahtzee, a new table game based on the classic family dice game, with unique betting options and bonus payouts available on the gaming floor.

Golden Nugget Las Vegas has become the first casino in the city to introduce 3-Dice Yahtzee, a new table game that reimagines the classic family dice game for the casino floor. The game, developed by Galaxy Gaming, is now available to players in downtown Las Vegas, offering a fresh alternative to traditional table games.

3-Dice Yahtzee features two sets of three dice—one Red and one Blue—with players betting on which side will win or if the round will end in a tie. The game is house-banked and designed to deliver fast-paced, easy-to-follow action, according to both Golden Nugget and Galaxy Gaming. Each hand is ranked as a Yahtzee (three matching dice), a straight (three consecutive numbers), or a Chance, where the dice totals are compared if neither side has a Yahtzee or straight.

How 3-Dice Yahtzee Works

The highest-ranking hand is a Yahtzee, followed by a straight. If neither side achieves these, the three dice are added for a Chance score, with the higher total winning. There is a unique rule: if the winning Chance score is 10 and the losing side has 8, the wager pushes instead of paying even money. Players can also place an optional side bet on this exact outcome, which pays 35-to-1.

Casinos have the option to enhance payouts for specific results, such as a winning 6-6-6 Yahtzee, which can pay 6-to-5 or 3-to-2 depending on the version. Additional bonus bets and a progressive wager are available, with progressive payouts for five- and six-dice Yahtzees and straights, including a jackpot for rolling six 6s across both hands.

Bringing a Classic Game to the Casino Floor

Galaxy Gaming launched 3-Dice Yahtzee in January at the International Casinos Exhibition (ICE) in Barcelona, under a licensing agreement with Hasbro. The game has since appeared in other markets before making its Las Vegas debut at Golden Nugget. The company describes the game as a way to bring the familiar excitement of Yahtzee to a casino setting, aiming for an engaging group experience that combines luck and strategy.

Golden Nugget’s addition of 3-Dice Yahtzee reflects a broader trend among downtown casinos to diversify their gaming offerings. For example, other properties in the area have recently expanded their high-limit slot rooms, as seen when the Plaza Hotel & Casino opened a new high-limit slot room to attract different types of players.

What Players Should Know

3-Dice Yahtzee is now available on the Golden Nugget Las Vegas gaming floor. The game is designed for both casual and experienced players, with straightforward rules and multiple betting options. Players interested in trying the new table game can visit Golden Nugget in downtown Las Vegas, where staff are available to explain the rules and side bets. The addition is part of Golden Nugget’s ongoing efforts to offer new experiences to both locals and visitors in the heart of downtown.
