A new study ranks Las Vegas as the world’s leading casino destination, with the highest number of gambling venues and online interest, but also finds it is the most expensive city for casino visitors at $369 per day.
Las Vegas has been named the world’s top casino destination in a recent study, outpacing major international cities in both the number of gambling venues and global online interest. However, the same report highlights that Las Vegas is also the most expensive place for casino visitors, with daily costs surpassing all other destinations analyzed.
The August study, conducted by Casino Streamers, evaluated more than 30 of the world’s most prominent gaming cities. Las Vegas led the rankings with 162 gambling venues and 130 casinos, both the highest among all cities surveyed. The city also generated 54.8 million online searches related to its casino and gaming offerings, reflecting its continued global appeal.
How Las Vegas Compares Globally
While Las Vegas dominated in total casino venues and online interest, London reported the highest number of gaming venues overall at 211, but with fewer casinos (49) and a slightly lower daily visitor cost of $293. London also achieved the highest average gaming venue rating at 4.61 out of 5, compared to Las Vegas’s 4.53, which ranked fourth among the top ten cities.
Other cities in the top rankings included Cairo, Batumi in Georgia, Manila, Macao, Reno, Melbourne, Limassol in Cyprus, and Montreal. Reno, another Nevada city, stood out for having the second-highest number of online searches at 11.5 million, underscoring Nevada’s continued prominence in the global gaming landscape.
Visitor Costs and Ratings
According to the study, Las Vegas’s average daily cost for casino visitors reached $369, the highest among all cities reviewed. This figure includes accommodation, travel, and entertainment expenses. London followed at $293 per day, while other destinations offered lower average costs. Despite the expense, Las Vegas’s casino venues maintained a strong average rating, though not the highest in the study.
The report compared destinations based on entertainment selection, average venue ratings, affordability, and online popularity. These factors combined to place Las Vegas at the top, despite its premium pricing for visitors.
