Broadway and Television Career

Morrison’s career spans both stage and screen. He made his Broadway debut in “Footloose” and gained wider recognition as Link Larkin in “Hairspray.” His performance in “The Light in the Piazza” earned him a Tony Award nomination, and he received a Drama Desk nomination for Outstanding Actor in a Musical for “10 Million Miles.” Morrison also starred in the Tony-winning revival of “South Pacific” at Lincoln Center Theater and played J.M. Barrie in “Finding Neverland,” earning two more Drama Desk nominations and the Broadway.com Audience Award for Favorite Actor in a Musical.

On television, Morrison is widely recognized for his role as Mr. Schuester in Fox’s musical comedy series “Glee,” which won the Golden Globe Award for Best Television Series – Comedy or Musical in 2010 and 2011. Morrison was nominated for Best Actor in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy both years. His other notable TV credits include recurring roles on CBS’s “The Good Wife” as U.S. Attorney Conor Fox and on ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy” as Paul Stadler.

Music Releases and Artistic Approach

In addition to his acting career, Morrison has released four studio albums. His self-titled 2011 debut on Mercury Records featured collaborations with Sting, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Sir Elton John. His most recent album, “Where It All Began,” is a collection of Broadway standards produced by Phil Ramone. Morrison’s performances are known for blending strong vocal ability with a commanding stage presence, drawing on his extensive background in musical theater.

About the New Show at Myron’s

Morrison’s upcoming production at Myron’s, titled “Show Up,” is described as an exploration of music and dance as reflections of human experience. According to Morrison, the show aims to move beyond entertainment, encouraging audiences to reflect on their own lives and emotions. “To see the beating heart of music and dance, not just as art forms but as reflections of our deepest selves. This show comes from my heart – it’s a piece of my soul laid bare,” Morrison said in a statement. He emphasized that the performance will focus on authenticity and vulnerability, stepping outside the roles he has played in the past.
