Stix Asia opens this winter at UnCommons in southwest Las Vegas, introducing three Tokyo-based restaurants to the mainland U.S. for the first time and expanding local Asian dining options.
Three restaurants from Tokyo will open their first mainland U.S. locations this winter as part of Stix Asia, an 18,000-square-foot food hall at UnCommons in southwest Las Vegas. The project follows Stix Asia’s first location in Waikiki, which opened in 2022. Construction has been underway for about five months, taking over the space that previously housed Sundry. The food hall is fully financed and aiming for a winter launch, according to industry reports.
Stix Asia is led by founder and CEO Frank Clark. The Las Vegas location will debut with three Tokyo-based restaurants and plans to feature a total of 12 Asian concepts at opening. The venue sits next to UnCommons and near Durango Casino & Resort, targeting both locals and tourists.
Tokyo Restaurants Make Their U.S. Mainland Debut
Ginza Bairin, founded in Tokyo in 1927, is known for its tonkatsu sauce, bite-size katsu cutlets, and katsu sandwiches. Some credit the restaurant with inventing the katsu sandwich. Ginza Bairin already operates in Honolulu, but this will be its first mainland U.S. location.
Ramen Bario, another Tokyo import, specializes in tonkotsu ramen with pork bone broth simmered for over 20 hours. The menu also includes tsukemen, where noodles are dipped into a separate bowl of broth. Ramen Bario has several locations in Tokyo and one in Honolulu.
Nanamusubi, established in Tokyo in 2016, serves musubi made with organic rice imported from Japan. The menu features white, brown, and ancient grain rice, each paired with traditional fillings. Nanamusubi also operates in Tokyo and Honolulu.
What’s Planned for Stix Asia
When Stix Asia opens, it will offer 12 concepts representing a range of Asian cuisines. Planned additions include a cocktail bar focused on Asian spirits, a Japanese bakery with traditional baked goods and desserts, and a Tokyo-style Neapolitan pizza spot known for its thick, airy crust. More restaurant announcements are expected before opening.
The food hall’s arrival adds to the growing number of dining options in Las Vegas neighborhoods outside the Strip. The city’s restaurant scene continues to shift, with new openings and closures changing where locals and visitors eat.
